Michael Garvens, a 1958 graduate, is the managing director at the Cologne/Bonn airport. The business graduate has been managing the company since February 1, 2002.

He began his career in the aviation industry at Hapag Lloyd. He was then active in the Lufthansa group in various positions for over ten years. At Lufthansa Airport and Ground Services, Garvens held a managerial position at the Friedrichshafen and Leibzig stations. Garvens then joined GlobeGround Berlin GmbH as a business manager. He is currently Vice President of the IHK Cologne and member of the board of trustees at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.

Michael Garvens is married and the father of two children.
